Meili Technologies
I started Meili to ensure that people like my dad can travel more autonomously and with confidence.
Meili is an AI-based health emergency detection system for fleet and passenger vehicles.
Meili's health emergency detection software prevents accidents by detecting these events and intervening.
-
Using existing car sensors, like a driver-facing camera, Meili detects health emergencies like heart attacks, seizures, and diabetic emergencies.
Meili then communicates with existing ADAS features for the car to proactively prevent crashes and contacts first responders to reduce time to life saving care.

1 in 3 drivers have pre-existing conditions and when a crash stems from a health event
It's 4x more likely to be fatal.
In the US alone, 80k crashes and 2k road fatalities occur/year due to crashes from health events. Compare this to the 200 caused by backover incidents which led to the requirement of backup cameras.

Central Park Medical Unit
Volunteer EMT & Donor Relations and Fundraising
In my free time, I volunteer as an EMT with Central Park Medical Unit and also handle their fundraising and donor gratitude programs. A little about the unit:
100% volunteer team of over 150 EMTs and paramedics
100% free ambulance service
Sustains the fastest response time in NY state (< 3 minutes on average)
Provides crisis response such as during COVID-19, heatwaves, and Hurricane Sandy
With the average cost of an ambulance ride in NYC being $1400, CPMU’s 100% free service is critical for many receiving patient care in and around Central Park.
As a non-profit, CPMU relies fully on the generosity of donations. If you’d like to help the group, you can do so in the following ways:

Every little bit helps. You can donate in the following ways:

Sending a message of support for CPMU goes a long way to support the unit and is always appreciated.

Join the unit and volunteer as an EMT!
Not an EMT yet? You can become one by joining 2x/week 3 hr EMT night school. Lots of great programs in the city. I did this one.
There is a shortage of EMTs in the city and the best way to give back is to give your time.

Meeting Social Matching Tool
Struggling to find a better name for this if you have any ideas.
Essentially, I’ve been annoyed with tools which require lots and lots of $$$ simply to set up meetings between members of a group for them to get to know one another. Currently building this for me and my friends at the Founders Club NY.
There are plenty of examples of tools that do this like:
Donut - I rebuilt this once with a co-worker, Ashutosh, at Xandr, enter BagelBot. Donut charges $50-100/month and also has a free version…so not terrible…but I’m cheap
Orbiit - UI based version which charges… $6k/year 🤯
So, I’m building my own to use for free with friends. Will probably make available publicly for a small fee, cheaper than Donut or just open-source it.
You can try out the alpha version of the app here: Matchup Meeting. Let me know if you have thoughts/feedback. : )
